Quase todas as séries de TV já têm o futuro definido para os próximos ciclos. Com o fim da alta temporada por lá, na semana passada, as emissoras americanas anunciaram muitas renovações – mas também muitos cancelamentos.

Talvez os dois casos mais marcantes sejam de produções que eram sucesso de público, mas que perderam fôlego com o tempo: Revenge e The Following. Sucesso aqui também na TV aberta (é exibida pela Globo), Revenge foi cancelada após quatro temporadas pela ABC, sendo que o último episódio foi ao ar nos EUA no dia 10 de maio. Já The Following, transmitida no Brasil pela Warner, não foi renovada pela Fox americana. Dessa forma, o último episódio da terceira temporada, a ser exibido em 18 de maio nos EUA, será também o series finale do drama policial estrelado por Kevin Bacon.
Muitas novidades também não sobreviveram à primeira temporada, como Constantine (inspirada em HQs), State of Affairs (com Katherine Heigl) e as comédias românticas A to Z, Manhatan Love Story e Selfie.
Entre os reality shows, American Idol foi renovado para apenas mais uma temporada. O pioneiro entre competições de música chegará ao fim depois de seu 15º ciclo.

Atenção: não foram incluídas as séries que estreiam nesta summer season, a partir de junho. É o caso de True Detective, Under the Dome, Hannibal e Rookie Blue, entre outras.

Atualização 1: CSI foi cancelada nesta quarta-feira, 13 de maio, após 15 temporadas. A série terminará com um episódio especial de duas horas. Leia mais aqui.
Atualização 2: Cancelada pela Fox, The Mindy Project vai ter uma nova temporada, a quarta, no serviço de streaming Hulu. Serão 26 episódios.
